Caring for your pieces.
Our launch pieces use plated finishes. A hard stone does not make a finish maintenance-free.
Every day
- Put jewelry on last, after perfume, lotion, hairspray, and sunscreen.
- Take it off before showering, swimming, cleaning, and exercise.
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear to remove skin oils.
Cleaning
- A soft dry cloth is enough for most cleaning.
- If needed, use lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap, then dry fully.
- Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, polishing compounds, and chemical dips, these can strip a plated finish.
Storage
- Store dry, in your Noviella box or a soft pouch.
- Keep chains flat and separate so they don't tangle or scratch each other.
About plating
Plating is a surface layer of gold over a base metal. With regular wear it thins over time, particularly on rings and at points of contact. That is normal, and it can be re-plated by a jeweler. We will not describe any Noviella piece as waterproof, tarnish-proof, or hypoallergenic without evidence for that specific product.
